Great Resonse in Salt Lake City

I dont believe that I had spoken to one company that wasn't interested in partnering with The Earth Expedition on one level or another.

Thanks to Wisconsin Pharmacal (current sponsor) I was able to attend O.R. (Outdoor Retailer)  It is the largest outdoor retail show in the US.  what basically happens there is a lot of business and it was my objective to talk to certain companies that I believe would be benficial to the sucess of The Earth Expedition. In a nutshell I would ask for the Director of Marketing/sponsorships and then introduce myself and then explain to them what The Earth Expedition was, why I was doing it, and the ways that it will benefit their company. I found nothing but great response. Now the hard part is figuring out what companies I want to go with becasue some of the interested companies gear overlaps. So over the next 6 months I will have to sift and sort all of the details and sign with with companies that will most benefit the expedition and cause.

Great News:  Merrell Boots has decided to Partner with The Earth Expedition and provide all footwear for the Expedition.

Other than that I made some good friends, met some good people, Enjoyed some fantastic meals (Thanks Wisconsin Pharmical) and  made significant progress for the Expedition. The pics are on the front page!

Other Expeditions News: 1: Shannon Carter has now joined the team as the Sponsorship Manager!

2: I will be leaving on Thursday for a wilderness trip up in the Porkies. I will see you all next week.

Outdoor Retailer: Salt Lake City, Utah

I think I migth be developing carpel tunel from all of the e-mails that I have been sending over the past couple of days. I also think that Atlanta Bread Company is tired of me ordering a coffee and then camping out at their table for the next 4 hours. But they will get over it :) .

Well, I leave from O'hare on Wednesday early in the morning to hop a plane to Salt Lake City, Utah for the Show.Outdoor Retailer (O.R.) has been on my mind for the past month. O.R. is a outdoor specific trade show that is not even open to the public. Basically all of the marketing directors and their teams come down to check out all of the new gear that each company has been working on all year. Well I am going this year in hopes of landing a few corporate sponsors that love to push the envelope and think outside the box. So this week I am spending every moment of the day working on my proposal and this website so that everything looks great when I fly down there. Wish me luck... I will be updating the site with all of the details of show and with pics of what is going on......I just remember my camera just broke...I'll figure something out.     See ya when I get back,    D
